Prisoners tried to escape from prison by dressing up as women after dates (2 photos)

Gang members Francisco Atila da Silva and Carlos Antonio da Silva Oliveira were caught trying to escape from Itaitinga 3 prison while dressed in women's clothing. Both men have a long criminal history in the state of Ceará, including drug trafficking, robberies, and murders.
To fool the guards, the men wore black wigs, pink skirts, white T-shirts, and even fake breasts. The prisoners tried to blend in with real women at the end of family visits to "slip away" undetected, but their appearance was apparently not convincing enough. Eventually, the men were apprehended on the premises of the prison.
Brazilian police are currently investigating how they got the women's suits and whether they were assisted by others. Incidentally, assisting the escape of a prisoner is considered a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term of 6 months to 2 years.
Francisco and Carlos now face disciplinary action for their failed prison escape attempt, and their current prison terms could be significantly extended.
