Two inmates from Virginia escaped from prison and went to local restaurant. They used a toothbrush to dig through tunnel to freedom, but were arrested after a few hours.
According to the Newport News Sheriff's Office, prisoners John Garza, 37, and Arlie Nemo, 43, were captured at a restaurant IHOP, offering specialty pancakes, about 12 kilometers from Newport News prison, from which they had escaped a few hours earlier.
Garza and Nemo used a "primitive instrument made by from a toothbrush and a metal object "to crack the wall of his chamber and gain access to loose reinforcing bars between walls. Then they used rebar to make a small hole. in the wall and climb through it, said the sheriff.
After leaving the prison cell, the men climbed over the wall and fled. They ended up at the International House of Pancakes in Hampton, where the police soon arrested them. IHOP visitors noticed two prisoners and called the police, the sheriff's office said.

Garza, a native of the Hamptons, was held under allegations, including contempt of court and breach of probationary period.
