The identity of the Briton who climbed the Eiffel Tower without a safety harness just hours before the Olympic closing ceremony has been revealed. Louis Davis, a climber and Hollywood stuntman, was arrested on the second floor of Paris's most famous landmark last Sunday.
A bare-chested man climbed the Eiffel Tower in 32-degree heat.
Eyewitnesses captured Davis climbing iron beams, passing the Olympic rings, while police tried to lead tourists away from the monument.
In the video of the arrest, the extreme sportsman smiles and says: "It's damn warm, isn't it?"

More than 30,000 police officers provided security in Paris and its suburbs during the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. Davis was spotted minutes after he began his climb and was arrested on the second floor of the structure.
The stuntman is known for climbing the 224m Leadenhall skyscraper in London and has worked with stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise.
He now faces charges of endangering the lives of others, an offence that carries a one-year prison sentence and a £12,800 fine.

The detainee can boast an impressive career as a stuntman. He participated in many high-profile projects and successful films.
Among his notable works is collaboration with actors Christian Bale and Heath Ledger in Christopher Nolan's cult film "The Dark Knight", Vin Diesel in "Fast and Furious" and Tom Cruise in the box office hit "Mission: Impossible: Fallout".
The Briton shared his mental health issues on social media. He says physical challenges have become a means of healing for him.
"I was diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and borderline personality disorder, I struggled with bulimia, used illegal substances, and attempted suicide. Through these challenges, I realized that confronting fear could change my life. That's why I took up mountaineering."

Cruz himself demonstrated his penchant for adrenaline-fueled feats just hours after Davis. The 62-year-old actor rappelled from the roof of the Stade de France, picked up the Olympic flag, and then rode away on a motorcycle, thus passing the baton of the Games to Los Angeles.
