Danny Burns from Stirling, Scotland, and his dogs raised Annie, an orphaned alpaca who was abandoned by her mother when she was just 10 minutes old. The animal grew up with three Labradors and now behaves like a dog too.
Annie lives in a 300 square meter house and also follows her owner everywhere, who even had to buy a special Vauxhall Zafira for his pet.
According to Burns, the four-year-old alpaca is currently pregnant with her own baby, but she refuses to return to the herd, so it may soon need a new home and a car.
"She's acting like a dog now! Every time the door opens, she lies down by the TV like a Labrador," the Scotsman says.
Danny bought the two alpacas 14 years ago after he lost his job. When Annie's mother abandoned her, he had to bottle feed her every two hours, which helped them form a close bond. Even when Annie gave birth to her first child, Bailey, who is now two, she still didn't want to leave her home.
"Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I don't care. Annie sleeps on the porch, loves chewing gum, chocolate, apples, bananas, profiteroles and salad. She's very naughty - she chews on cables, although she doesn't have any front teeth on the top, but the ones in the back are quite sharp. She's not a puppy that wears shoes," Danny adds.
According to the man, during car journeys, the alpaca likes to relax in the back seat of a Vauxhall Zafira, with her legs tucked under her. The animal mainly eats grain, barley and oats. Last year, the owner spent a staggering £36,000 on food for the entire herd.
