A real monster: a man ended up in the water with a giant 6-meter anaconda (2 photos + 1 video)
According to veterinarian Sergio Antunes Rossi, this is the second longest snake in the world after the reticulated python, and is also the heaviest - its weight can reach 200 kilograms.
37-year-old Argentine veterinarian Sergio Antunes Rossi, who likes to travel the world in his free time, arrived in the Peruvian Amazon and swam in a pond with a 6-meter anaconda. The man posted a corresponding video on his Instagram page.
Sergio came across the reptile lying on the bank, half submerged in the river. The vet knew that snakes attack when they feel threatened, but he still decided to get into the water with the reptile.
"At this moment, my dream is coming true - I feel my whole body tingling with excitement. I've loved snakes since I was a child, and this is a truly iconic species. I've long wanted to document it in the wild," the man in the frame says.
Rossi explained that the green anaconda grows up to eight meters - it is the second longest snake in the world after the reticulated python, and is also the heaviest - its weight can reach 200 kg.
Kneeling just inches away from the reptile, he added, "The creature you're seeing right now is a monster. It has incredible strength and a very powerful head. Luckily, I'm not part of its food chain."
By the way, there are no documented cases of green anacondas eating humans, but attacks do happen. This species is known to stretch its jaws wide enough to push through the shoulders of an adult man.
These snakes are found in Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Paraguay. They feed mainly on mammals, reptiles, birds, and young individuals - amphibians and fish. They reach maturity at the age of 6 years and live up to 30.
