Elizabeth Crooks had been unconscious for almost 20 minutes when an Amazon driver arrived to deliver the package.
Elizabeth Crooks, 26, suffered a bout of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), when her heart rate spiked to nearly 180 beats per minute and she lost consciousness. Luckily, her 6-year-old son Aiden was nearby and called the driver for help.
Elizabeth had been unconscious for almost 20 minutes when an Amazon driver arrived to deliver the parcel. In a video posted online, the boy can be seen running to the gate of his home in Newtownwards, Northern Ireland, picking up the parcel, thanking the delivery driver, and then asking for help.
"Excuse me, could you help my mum?" he asked the unknown man, who, upon hearing this, changed his face and headed into the house to find out what had happened and call an ambulance.
The woman was immediately taken to hospital, where after examination she was given a disappointing diagnosis - a severe attack of POTS.
"When I came to, all I saw was a high-visibility vest. For some reason I thought it was paramedics, to be honest. Aiden wrapped me in a blanket and went to get a bucket. They say he said, 'Mommy's passed out.' I don't even know if I've ever used that term," Elizabeth said.
The video went viral on social media, with many praising the driver for taking the time to listen to little Aiden. The mother then contacted the driver to thank him for his help.
"I'm glad Elizabeth is okay. She can be proud of her son," said the courier, whose name is Brian.
