Ford has introduced the extreme SUV Raptor T1+. This is a prototype built to participate in the Dakar Rally, where it will go in January 2025.
The buggy was developed with the participation of specialists from M-Sport. The Raptor T1+ is based on a steel space frame, with body panels made of carbon fiber. The fully independent double wishbone suspension is complemented by adjustable Fox coilovers with remote reservoirs and 37-inch tires on 17-inch wheels. Stopping the buggy will be Alcon brakes with 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers.
The ground clearance of the supercar is 400 mm, and the suspension travel reaches 350 mm. The stated approach angle is more than 70 degrees.
The Raptor T1+ is powered by an engine based on the standard Coyote 5.0-liter V8. There is no information about the engine, except that it is equipped with a unique dry sump lubrication system. It is designed specifically for the harsh conditions of rally raids.
The buggy has already covered about 10 thousand test kilometers. The “combat” debut of the new vehicles will take place in early August at Baja Hungary in Hungary. In October, the crews on the Raptor T1+ will take part in the famous Rallye du Maroc, and in January they will go to Dakar. The sports cars will be piloted by the legendary Carlos Sainz Sr. and Nani Roma.
