The hero of the video took a picturesque walk to a neighboring village. However, there was one caveat. He walked a distance of 3640 meters on a line stretched over the sea.
Estonian slackliner and Hollywood stuntman Jaan Roose became the first person to walk on a 3.6 km long line stretched between the Italian mainland (Calabria) and the island of Sicily. The mainland of Italy (Calabria) and the island of Sicily were connected by a line 3646 meters long. Roose covered this route in almost three hours.
The guy failed to get into the Guinness Book of Records. About 80 meters before the finish, he lost his balance and fell. Despite the fact that the distance exceeded the previous world record of 2710 meters, according to the rules of this sport, in order to set a new record it is necessary to complete the distance without falling. His fall at the last stage prevented him from setting a new record.
Jaan Roose is a three-time world champion and the only athlete to ever perform a double backflip on a slackline. He has set many world records, including walking a tightrope between the Twin Towers in Qatar. His skills have been showcased in Hollywood films and productions, including Assassin's Creed (2016) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).
