The events of Gladiator 2 will unfold approximately 15 years after the first film. According to the plot of the film, Lucilla's grown-up son named Lucius will return to Rome as a prisoner and find himself in the gladiatorial arena, where he will have to fight for his life and freedom.
The film was directed by Ridley Scott, also known for “Alien” and the first part of “Gladiator.” The script was written by David Scarpa (“All the Money in the World”).
The film stars Paul Mescal (“My Sunshine”), Pedro Pascal (“The Last of Us”), Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things”), Denzel Washington (“Wrath”) and Connie Nielsen (“Gladiator”).
The first part of "Gladiator" was released in 2000. The main roles in the film were played by Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. The film won five Oscars, including Best Picture.
