In a special capsule, 7 people will be able to rise to a height of 40 km.

The Spanish company EOS-X Space announced that as early as next year, those who want to see space and our planet from a very high altitude will be able to rise into the stratosphere in a seven-seat capsule, which is attached to a huge balloon.

When it comes to flying to the edge of outer space in a hot air balloon, that is, almost to where real space begins, then in this regard, some people might think of the American company Space Perspective.

Since 2020, this company has been developing the Neptune capsule, inside which 8 space tourists will be able to rise to a height of 30 km above the Earth’s surface. The flight itself will take 6 hours.

At this height you can see the curvature of the Earth and the blackness of space. The Neptune capsule will be attached to a balloon filled with hydrogen. But Space Perspective is not the only company that is going to provide a similar service for space tourists.

The Spanish company EOS-X Space has announced that it is already completing the development of its own EOS-X capsule, which should begin flights from bases in Seville and Abu Dhabi in the third quarter of 2025.

This carbon fiber capsule will transport 7 tourists and one pilot approximately 40 km above the Earth's surface using a helium-filled balloon. It is assumed that the entire flight to the stratosphere will take 5 hours: two hours will be needed to ascend, the capsule will be at the above altitude for two hours and then will descend for an hour.

As with the Neptune capsule, the EOS-X will have ergonomic seats, panoramic windows, a bar and a toilet. A ticket for tourists will cost from 150 to 200 thousand euros per seat. While a flight in a capsule from Space Perspective will cost 125 thousand dollars. At the approximate exchange rate this is 116 thousand euros.

EOS-X Space hopes to offer even more to especially wealthy clients. To do this, she plans to build a SpaceHub complex on the island of Cartuja, which is located on the Guadalquivir River in Seville. There, tourists will be able to spend a few days in a luxury hotel, taking part in activities such as zero-gravity airplane flights and virtual reality space mission simulations, before taking a helicopter ride to the EOS-X capsule's launch site.

EOS-X Space says final testing of the capsule will take place soon. You can see what such a flight would look like in the video below.
