“I’m proud of it”: a man paid $361 thousand to become a single father with many children (5 photos)

Nathan Chan says he has no one in his life but his children right now, but that could still change.





39-year-old Nathan Chan from Alberta (Canada) spent $361 thousand to become a single father. A man who was denied adoption of a child for 10 years took advantage of egg donation and the services of surrogate mothers.

Now Nathan is the happy father of two daughters and one son.

“Having children is the best decision of my life. I am proud that I became a single father by choice,” says the man who wanted to start a family without a partner back in 2010.



However, the Canadian is experiencing insane pressure from society.

“For years I focused on work and travel, waiting for the right person to come into my life so we could become parents together, but it didn’t work out,” Chan says.





All three of his children were conceived with the help of three different surrogates: eldest daughter Nanette was six years old, son Newton was three, and the youngest Neptune Nina was two.

“It took me over ten years to start my family, but when I look at my children, I realize that it was worth it. I hope by sharing my story, I will inspire other single men to explore all their options to become fathers,” the man adds.



When Nathan is asked about his personal life, he replies that he has no one in his life except his children, but that things can still change.
