The largest of all turtles on Earth
The leatherback turtle is the only living species of the leatherback turtle family. It is not only the largest turtle in the world, but also one of the largest reptiles on the planet.
The incredible creature, as if straight out of ancient legends, can reach 2.6 meters in length and weigh up to 1000 kilograms. The reptile spends most of its life in water.
Turtles are common in all tropical seas and almost all oceans. They feed on small fish, jellyfish, crustaceans, cephalopods and other small marine life.
