Madonna, 65, gave the biggest concert of her career
More than one and a half million people gathered for Madonna's free concert on the beach in Rio de Janeiro.
The concert of the American singer Madonna, held on the beach of Brazilian Rio de Janeiro, was attended by 1.6 million people. The Guardian reports this.
This was the final concert of the Celebration World Tour and was free to attend. According to the publication, visitors filled not only Copacabana Beach, but also the city streets adjacent to it.
However, some fans took their seats several days before the performance. At the same time, wealthier fans watched the concert from yachts or from the balconies of apartments in the mentioned area.
According to state and city authorities, about 20 million reais (more than 4 million dollars) were spent on organizing the event. The remaining costs were covered by private investors.
It is clarified that, according to preliminary estimates, the concert attracted about 300 million reais to the economy of Rio de Janeiro.
