A girl left a card game tournament because the male players smelled bad (3 photos)
A tournament was held in Japan for Yu-Gi-Oh, a collectible card game based on the manga of the same name and similar to Hearthstone. Participants need to defeat the enemy by lowering his health points.
A Twitter user called the players aggressive and unfriendly to newcomers. He talked about a girl who came to the tournament for the first time, but quickly left.
The post went viral on the Internet. Soon the girl commented on the situation from her personal account. She said that she left not because of the behavior of other players, but because of the stench:
“I returned home because I couldn’t stand the unpleasant smell. I wasn't sad at all about losing."
One user wrote that the unpleasant smell is one of the reasons why women rarely participate in such tournaments.
Some commentators agreed with the girl’s opinion, but some users thought that this was an inflated stereotype.
In fact, such a problem does exist. Since 2019, organizers of official Yu-Gi-Oh competitions have been asking participants to maintain good personal hygiene.
You can gather players for a tournament, but it’s difficult to get them to wash.
