A noise generator is a favorite thing among neighbors in South Korea (5 photos)

In South Korea, the war between noisy neighbors has moved to a new, technological level. Now those who often change apartments carry with them sound systems for anti-neighbor control.

Stylish and you can tell the police it's an air freshener

What is a noisemaker?

This is a device attached to the ceiling, similar to a chandelier or a smoke detector (different companies produce different formats, about 10 options in total). They are turned on when the upstairs neighbors make a lot of noise and do not respond to requests to be quieter.

Then you turn on the noisemaker, although no one forbade using it on your neighbors on the left and right either.

Noise canceling headphones are also popular, but you can’t live with them for the rest of your life.

The Koreans considered the Smartor speaker to be the most effective noise suppressor, which best combines noise for neighbors, but drowns out the sounds inside the owner’s apartment.

You create hell on earth for others, while you calmly watch TV. This thing costs about 170,000 won ($11), and many families have it. At some point, real neighborhood fights broke out with a competition to see who had the most powerful noisemaker.

“There is nothing better than the feeling of peace when you have taken revenge for all the nerves that have spoiled your nerves,” admit the buyers of such things. They say they got back every won they paid.

Why not just make the insulation better? Because a lot of Koreans rent houses, the age of buying a first home with a mortgage is quite high.

There is no point in making repairs in a rented apartment, especially since you can be evicted from there. That’s why they carry these noise cannons with them. War means war!

You can also sprinkle coins on such a speaker, as they show in the tutorial on how to intimidate neighbors

Such noisemakers are absolutely legal in South Korea, although the authorities had to issue memos and requests to resolve neighborly disputes differently. That people should complain to the authorities about those who make noise.

It's funny, because such an industry appeared because the official channels and the police were useless. The people were driven into a corner and came up with such an invention.

In dramas, neighbors often quarrel over the wall, which is apparently a very popular theme.

It is noteworthy that the fight against noisy neighbors with noise is popular in all countries. In our country they use a saucepan and a smartphone for this; in China they use all sorts of construction hammers and mixers. And the Koreans want to spoil their neighbors in a stylish and beautiful way, so that it is not trash in the apartment.

I can’t agree with them, because a hammer drill and a saucepan will still be needed on the farm. What else is a noise generator for? For nothing.
