In China, a corgi joined the police force
In China, a corgi entered police service for the first time. A six-month-old puppy named Fu Zai is an expert in detecting explosives.
Despite the fact that the dog has short legs, it demonstrates excellent results in training.
Fu Zai made his debut on the opening day of the police camp in Weifang City, Shandong Province. He destroyed the stereotype that only “long-legged” dogs are hired for police service. Along with his colleagues, he trained hard: he learned obedience, bomb detection, sniffing techniques and much more. Fu Zai at the age of two months surpassed his peers in this. He will have to undergo further training in order to receive an official assignment and new tasks.
Thanks to its short legs, Fu Zai can explore the spaces under the car and easily carry out searches in narrow places. In addition, police believe that a baby corgi could improve interaction between service dogs and the general public. In addition to his special skills, Fu Zai became famous on the Internet thanks to his charming smile.
“His strong adaptability to the environment, his desire to master objects and his love for food are especially conducive to our learning,” said Wang Yanan, head of the police dog base of the Weifang Public Security Bureau, as quoted by China Daily.
