A story worthy of the subject of the satirical publication Panorama took place in New Orleans, the largest city in Louisiana. The local police chief, Anne Kirkpatrick, complained at a city council meeting about hordes of rats terrorizing law enforcement headquarters. According to her, the rodents enter rooms with evidence, devour the marijuana stored there, and then walk around the entire building while high.

"The rats are eating our marijuana. They're all high!" - said Kirpatrick at a meeting of the city administration.

The New Orleans police chief added that rodents are not so bad. There were also cockroaches in the police headquarters, which, together with their rodent accomplices, literally terrorized her subordinates. Police officers find insects and rat waste on their desks every morning, which has a negative impact on employee morale.

"We say we value our employees. But what right do we have to talk about this, allowing people to work in such conditions?" - added Kirkpatrick.

It is reported that the police chief's complaint was taken into account and the city council voted to rent a new building for law enforcement. This will cost the New Orleans budget 670 thousand dollars (more than 61 million rubles). At the same time, another $30 million (2.7 billion rubles) will be needed to renovate the old headquarters building. The police hope that the rats and cockroaches will be removed from the headquarters by the summer.
