Freddie Mercury's mansion is put up for sale for the first time (7 photos)
Queen star Freddie Mercury died at his London mansion three decades ago. His former lover, 72-year-old Mary Austin, intends to sell the legend's home in the exclusive Kessington area for £30 million.
Mercury bought the property in 1985 for £500,000, but since then its value has risen sixty-fold.
The Garden Lodge became a shrine to fans from around the world, who left messages for the late musician on the front door before Mary replaced it a few years ago.
Just six months ago, Freddie's personal belongings were sold for more than £40 million.
Mary told Bloomberg: "The house is actually mine in name only. I did the house with him [Mercury] and for him, and it will always be his. It was his dream, it was his vision."

Real estate agency Knight Frank published only two photographs of the interior. They show an entryway and dining room with classic furniture and walls painted yellow.
Rumors recently surfaced that the Queen frontman could be digitally recreated for stage performances such as the ABBA Voyage residency in London.
Mercury Songs Limited, which owns the rights to the artist's work, has registered trademarks related to virtual reality and 3D.
