The legendary Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1974 Freddie Mercury will be sold at auction (30 photos)

Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury is one of the most famous rock stars in the world. Cheerful frontman adored luxury cars, among which were Lincoln, Daimler and his beloved Rolls-Royce, copy which was shown at the beginning of the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody".





November 5 at RM Sotheby's auction in London will go under the hammer 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow sedan. He is remarkable the personality of one of the owners: in the early 1980s, the frontman rode it famous band Queen Freddie Mercury. It is believed that the sedan is still equipped with the original engine, and paintwork and trim interiors are identical to the factory ones. Auctioneers do not publish price expectations.



Despite the fact that the car was released in 1974, Freddie's company Mercury acquired it five years later. Owned by the singer sedan remained until his death in 1991, then "Rolls" used by his sister. Silver Shadow family garage left only in 2013.





Auctioneers note the low probability that Mercury himself drove this sedan: it is generally accepted that he never received driver's license. Most likely, the singer moved on it with driver, and the period of active use of the car fell just at a time when Queen was recording their biggest hits.



The current owner of the car on the website of the auction house is not specified, it is known only that he bought Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce in 2013. Highly it is likely that he is Andrey Danilko, because earlier he confessed to this, according to focus.ua

Ukrainian singer and producer said he bought Freddie's car Mercury almost 10 years ago, but could not bring it into Ukraine (obviously there were difficulties with customs clearance of the old Rolls-Royce). All this Andrey Danilko was forced to pay to park his car in London.



Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is equipped with a 6.75-liter V8. Auctioneers do not specify either engine output or vehicle mileage.
