The Three Musketeers, 1973 (UK, USA, Spain)





The film received two British awards, which noted the comedy component of the film. Raquel Welch, who plays Constance, was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy Film.

D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, 1978 (USSR)



The viewer will easily recognize this film adaptation of the novel, which definitely deserves high ratings. It has three sequels: “The Musketeers Twenty Years Later” (1992), “The Mystery of Queen Anne, or The Musketeers Thirty Years Later” (1993) and “The Return of the Musketeers, or The Treasures of Cardinal Mazarin” (2008). The latest film has extremely low audience ratings.

Despite the star cast (Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Tim Curry), this film adaptation received low ratings from viewers (6.4 on IMDb) and critics. Chris O'Donnell (D'Artagnan) received a nomination for worst actor from Golden Raspberry.

Mademoiselle Musketeer, 2004 (USA)



When D'Artagnan (played by Michael York, as in the 1973 film) and the rest of the Musketeers have achieved everything possible, their children take up the cause: the protagonist's daughter, played by Susie Amy, and her friends save France from a coup. The role of Cardinal Mazarin is played by Gerard Depardieu. The mini-series did not gain much popularity.

Musketeers, 2011 (Germany, France, UK)



A film directed by Paul Anderson, in which some of the main roles were played by such actors as Logan Lerman (D'Artagnan), Milla Jovovich (Milady), Christoph Waltz (Richelieu), Orlando Bloom (Duke of Buckingham) and Mads Mikkelsen (Rochefort). Quentin Tarantino named The Musketeers one of the best films of 2011. True, most viewers do not really agree with him: on IMDb the film has a rating of 5.7.
