The Russian drove his neighbor's car several meters away and earned a criminal charge
The man was in such a hurry to get to the entrance that he did not care about possible responsibility for such an offense.
The incident occurred in the courtyard of one of the houses on Moskovsky Avenue in Voronezh on December 14. In the evening, a 39-year-old medical equipment engineer drove up to the house and got out of the car to find a parking space, leaving the keys in the ignition. Next came a 41-year-old cook, who was in such a hurry to unload the New Year's decorations at the entrance that he decided to get behind the wheel of the neighbor's Volkswagen Polo. He moved the car a few meters to the side to make way for his car.
At that moment, the owner of the car approached and presented claims to the willful neighbor. Apparently, the man who got behind the wheel of someone else’s car was not aware of the threatening consequences and did not apologize and resolve the matter peacefully. There was a quarrel between the neighbors. Therefore, the owner of the Polo went to the police the next morning and wrote a statement.
As a result, things took a very nasty turn for the cook. A criminal case was opened against him under Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Wrongful seizure of a vehicle without the purpose of theft”). The man now faces up to 5 years in prison.
