A modified virus similar to COVID-19 was tested in China - all mice died within eight days (2 photos)
There is no rest for Chinese scientists! It turned out that Covid was not enough for them, and the researchers tested the GX_P2V virus, which is similar to COVID-19, on rodents. The results of the experiment were disappointing.
The first strain of the virus, GX_P2V, was discovered in 2017 in Malaysian pangolins. Subsequently, scientists modified it and then tested it on mice. It turned out that the infection was deadly for rodents. Within 8 days, all infected individuals died. During the experiment, the mice quickly lost weight, moved little, and the day before death their eyes turned completely white. At autopsy, the dead animals were found to have damaged lungs, as well as trachea, bones and brain.
The study, published on the scientific portal Biorxiv, explains that the mice were also modified. A human gene was introduced into rodents to make it easier to become infected with the virus. Most likely, the rapid death of the mice was due to this very circumstance, but since... Research on the virus has not been conducted (thank God) on humans; it would be reckless to talk about its impact on the human body.
However, the experiment has already been condemned by scientists in other countries. For example, Francois Ballou, an expert in epidemiology at the Institute of Genetics at University College London, called it “terrible” and “completely senseless from a scientific point of view.”
It is also unknown whether the safety measures during this experiment would have been sufficient, and how the latest amusements of Chinese scientists could threaten humanity.
Rutgers University chemistry and chemical biology professor Richard H. Ebright echoed Ballou's concerns with one word: “agree.” Dr. Gennady Glinsky, professor of medicine at Stanford, wrote: “This madness must be stopped before it is too late.”
But leap year 2024 has just begun...
