Mercedes-Benz presented a new car media system with video games and films (8 photos)
Mercedes-Benz spoke about software updates for on-board media systems at the CES technology exhibition in Las Vegas. Thanks to the new MB OS, the development of which is nearing completion, production cars will receive a number of advanced functions. Among them are, for example, video games, an improved navigation system and a virtual assistant with elements of artificial intelligence.
Elements of artificial intelligence should provide the virtual assistant with the ability to more naturally respond not only to the user’s requests, but also to his mood. For example, in response to the phrase “I’m hungry,” the new assistant will not only provide a list of nearby establishments, but will also help you make a choice based on the user’s preferences and available reviews. The assistant will also be able, for example, to plan trips taking into account the owner’s schedule and suggest changes if the user is out of schedule.
Mercedes-Benz intends to teach the assistant to imitate the mood in accordance with the owner’s emotions. He will change the sound of his voice and the duration of his remarks, and also display emotion symbols on the system display.
On-board navigation will receive a three-dimensional display of buildings and will show not only maps, but also the time of day and current weather. Sony and Antstream promise to provide a set of video games for the media system. Finally, Mercedes-Benz will come with several pre-installed media services for streaming video and audio, including an application for playing audiobooks.
It is expected that Mercedes-Benz will present a production-ready version of the new media system along with the new generation CLA production electric car. Its prototype based on the latest MMA platform has already been shown, and the production sedan should appear within this year.
