Six tourists almost died in Thailand when a pleasure yacht sank (5 photos)
One of the pipes in the engine compartment of the Martini pleasure boat burst, and the vessel began to rapidly plunge into the water.
Six vacationers went on a boat trip in Thailand. Near the popular “Coral Island” among tourists (located not far from Phuket) in Nam-bo Bay, something strange began to happen.
Suddenly, the boat, which was carrying tourists and three crew members, began to sink. The crew tried to pump out the rapidly rising water, but to no avail.
Fortunately, the people from the yacht (including three children aged 4, 9 and 14 years old) were saved by the crew of the Panwa vessel, which was moored near the scene of the emergency.
They were taken to a hotel, and local authorities came to the conclusion that the sunken ship had been improperly operated. There was no motorist on the boat, and the owners of the vessel did not provide a license to use a motorized vessel.
Phuket authorities said they would take the strictest measures against the owner of the boat, 31-year-old Chakri Kaenkhong. Although there are a lot of such boats, whose owners offer inexpensive sea excursions, in Thailand.
