In Zambia, a safari guide captured video of a pride of lions attacking a large crocodile.
An unusual lion hunt was caught on video in the country's oldest and largest national park, Kafue National Park, located on the Busanga plains. In the video, a dozen lions surrounded and attacked a huge crocodile.
One of the lionesses immobilized the reptile by grabbing it with her teeth. She then tried to pull it out of the ditch, but it wriggled around and tried to bite her back. Then other lions intervened and pinned the crocodile to the ground with their paws.
Eventually they managed to move their prey a little and turn it onto its back, which made it much easier to bite through the thick, tough skin. After this, the pride tore the predator to pieces and started eating.
Lions love to hunt in groups because they know that numerical advantage increases the chances of success. A pride of lions is much more lethal than a lone predator, especially when it comes to large prey or dangerous predators such as crocodiles.
