In the United States, a man accidentally caught a hammerhead shark 3.6 meters long. The fisherman decided to release the predator.
23-year-old Brandon Griffin from Florida accidentally caught a huge hammerhead shark while fishing. According to the man, after that he quickly dragged the predatory fish to the shore, and then, together with a friend, freed it and released it into the ocean.
The fisherman explained that he was in a hurry because hammerhead sharks rarely survive when hooked. “Hammerhead sharks are very vulnerable,” he said. “And if the struggle time exceeds 45 minutes, it threatens their health.”
Griffin advised that when encountering a hammerhead shark, keep your limbs away from its mouth, which is located below. “And make sure it floats away and doesn’t come back to knock you down,” he added. “That happened to me once!”
