A Minnesota sheriff's deputy rescued two fishermen and a dog who fell through the ice. The incident occurred on December 3 in the town of Noutten, Anoka County. Chris Fjeld did not wait for rescuers and began to act, despite the fears of his colleague Kert Grabmeier.

"Chris, where are you going? Chris, I don't like this," Grubmeier, the sheriff's deputy whose camera is recording the scene, can be heard saying.

“These guys are hypothermic,” Fjeld replies.

The man tied a rope to his body, gave its end to his partner, after which he lay down on the ice and began to move towards the fishermen.

A passerby was reportedly able to obtain a canoe for the sunken people to get into while waiting for rescuers to arrive.

A female officer from the St. Francis Police Department yelled to Fjeld that the firefighters were on the way. By the time the brigade arrived, he had already pulled everyone out.

"We are glad everyone involved is safe and are proud of Deputy Field's selfless actions," the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities did not miss the opportunity to remind local residents that the ice on some lakes and ponds in Minnesota is still thin and they should not expose themselves to mortal danger.
