The new 2010 Tesla Roadster was put up for auction (29 photos)

American dealer and tuner of electric cars Gruber Motors has put up for sale the first generation Tesla Roadster, released in 2010. The sports car is being sold at auction, and the final bid could exceed a quarter of a million dollars. The fact is that the Roadster has only traveled about 60 km since its assembly.





For what reason the electric car was never used for its intended purpose in 13 years, the dealer does not specify. It is possible that the roadster was originally purchased as an investment or for a collection: Tesla produced only about 2.4 thousand of these cars.

The first generation Roadster is based on the Lotus Elise chassis with a modified exterior, modified interior and battery powertrain. Initially, the sports car was equipped with a 288 hp engine. s., which made it possible to accelerate to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of about 200 km/h. Thanks to the 53-kilowatt battery, the Tesla Roadster could travel about 400 km without recharging, which at the time of the start of sales made it the record holder for the range among production electric vehicles.

The example up for sale is a representative of the 2010 model year, after which the Roadster was slightly modified. The electric car received, for example, adjustable shock absorbers, a slightly more comfortable interior finish, a modified drive mode selector and improved sound insulation.
