“They say one thing, but live completely differently”: a preacher from Brazil became disillusioned with the church and went into porn (7 photos)
After 8 years of serving the Gospel Church, 36-year-old Ana Akiva decided to make a drastic change in her life.
Ana Akiva has a rich biography. The once pretty girl worked as a model and even took part in the “Miss Boom-Boom” beauty contest for the best buttocks.
In 2015, everything changed. She believed, joined the Fuxico Evangelical Church and even became a preacher.
“I have a shameful past where I did everything to look, have status and be known as a sensual woman. I even started a relationship with a friend just to gain fame. It was all a lie. Today there is God in my life, I deeply repent and I have a new mission in life,” said Ana.
It lasted for 8 years. All these years she led a pious lifestyle and did not think about anything other than God. Ana was married to Pastor Yusef Akiva for seven years and publicly announced her divorce last November, saying the initiative came from her ex-husband.
Reflecting on her six-year marriage, a woman says her husband controlled her life, forbidding her from working outside the home or making friends. She details emotional abuse, stating, “It's hard to be happy around someone who controls your life and who treats you like trash.” Akiva says many women involved in the Church's service experience something similar, but suffer in silence. And for abusers, Ana believes, the Church is an ideal place, because there they can hide behind the Word of God and humiliate women, and they will endure, because this is what the Son of God bequeathed.
Akiva, speaking of abandonment of pastoral responsibilities, criticizes the church environment as “corrupt” and, in some cases, even worse than the secular world. She claims that the ideals preached do not correspond to the actual behavior of the clergy, and disappointment in this contributed to her leaving the pastorate.
After a while, Akiva went all out, declaring that she had decided to sell her intimate photos and videos. She reports that she discussed this step with her current life partner, and also informed her ex-husband, parents and even children about it.
Akiva states that showing off her body does not contradict her faith: “God is everything to me. He knows that I love Him.”
By the way, the woman does not deny that after a while she can quit porn and return to ministry again. Although now she feels close to God.
Akiva is not the only one who changed religions by going into porn. American Eddie Andrews grew up in a very religious family, where serving God was a primary need, along with food and sleep. Having grown up, she went to the Mormon church, where she was a preacher for 18 months, and then also changed her life dramatically.
