Tesla Cybertruck is finally officially unveiled. It has significantly increased in price (12 photos + 2 videos)
In November 2019, Elon Musk presented the first Tesla pickup truck to the public. An angular, futuristic truck with an ultra-rigid stainless steel body, long LED strips front and rear that act as headlights and flashlights, and toothy off-road tires. The promised characteristics of the model and its unusual design led to more than 2 million people placing pre-orders for the car. However, the production version of the Cybertruck was greatly delayed and, instead of 2021, was shown only on the night of December 1, 2023. 
Over the past years, the unusually shaped pickup truck has acquired jokes, memes and even assumptions that in real life it will not go into production and will remain a concept, a dream, a childhood drawing of Musk.
But no. The commercial pickup truck retained the unique appearance of the prototype, although it received a completely different interior, and its technical characteristics did not entirely coincide with the promises of the creator. Prices too.
As part of the official presentation, the specifications of two modifications of the Tesla Cybertruck were revealed. The most powerful version has three electric motors with a total output of 845 horsepower and is called Cyberbeast. This truck is capable of hitting the first hundred in 2.6 seconds and flying 402 meters of drag strip in less than 11 seconds. True, you will have to pay for high power and speed with range. Without recharging, the pickup will travel no more than 515 kilometers. By the way, in 2019, for the three-engine version, they promised a range of 805 kilometers and a much lower price - 70 thousand dollars versus 100 thousand, which they intend to ask now.
For those who do not care so much about power, but still need all-wheel drive, a variation with two engines and 600 horsepower has been prepared. This Cybertruck should travel up to 547 kilometers on a full battery. It is noteworthy that here reality exceeded expectations, and not vice versa. It's a pity that this trick didn't work out with the price. The cost increased by 30 thousand dollars - from 50 thousand to 80 thousand.
Finally, the simplest would be the single-engine Cybertruck. The recoil of its power plant has not yet been announced, but the range is at the level of 402 kilometers. However, it will be possible to order a rear-wheel drive Tesla no earlier than 2025 and at a price starting from 61 thousand dollars, which is 21.1 thousand higher than promised.
The interior and equipment of the model were not specifically mentioned, but judging by the photographs, buyers will be treated to a minimalist style, as in other Tesla models, with a flattened steering wheel, a massive display in the center and an additional screen for rear passengers, an almost complete absence of physical buttons and a pair of wireless chargers on the center console. Naturally, the car will receive the full range of Tesla driving assistants and, probably, several additional off-road assistants.
It’s worth mentioning a couple of interesting features of the Cybertruck. Firstly, the car body still has a certain degree of protection from bullets, but no one talked about any certification. The electric car is also equipped with strong glass. The creators demonstrated this by throwing a baseball through the side window. Well, an additional bonus is the optional battery, a powerbank, the size of a toolbox, which is proposed to be placed in the body. With it, the twin-engine Cybertruck will travel not 547, but 756 kilometers.
At the event, the first ten “cybertrucks” were presented to customers, but the rest will have to wait. Tesla intends to reach industrial production volumes in 2024, and fully utilize its capacity only in 2025. And don’t forget that, according to some reports, the number of pre-orders for the pickup truck exceeds 2 million!
