The cat became a guide for his best friend (5 photos + 1 video)
A guide dog is common. Such animals become the eyes of people who have lost their sight. But what if a dog faces the problem of blindness?
That's what friends are for. Which completely refute the truth of the established expression “they live like a cat and a dog.”
Burlington (Vermont) resident Robin Wagner adopted a German shepherd mix from a shelter in 2019. I took my pet to the veterinarian for an examination and learned that Blaze was blind in one eye. And he is rapidly losing his sight in the second stage due to problems with the lens.
The eyeballs had to be removed, which made the dog very anxious and nervous. Help came from unexpected places. The girl’s pet cat Satin initially greeted the new tenant quite kindly. And when Blaze returned from the clinic and began to constantly bump into and step on her, she decided to take the problem into her own paws. And become not only a neighbor for Blaze, but also a friend.
At first, Satine dodged and ran away from the large and clumsy dog. And then Robin noticed that her pet no longer rushed headlong out of the room when Blaze approached her, but was emitting a loud melodic meow. They say, be careful, don’t step on it.
Blaze understood the cat's signals correctly. And gradually the little friend began to lead the giant (the dog weighs about 80 kg) around the house. Invariably warns of collisions with people or objects with a delicate meow or purr. The dog stops and changes its trajectory.
Robin believes that it was Blaise's illness that became the reason for such a strong and tender friendship. The big dog is happy that thanks to Satin he doesn’t feel lonely and so clumsy, and the cat loves to rub against his endlessly long paws. Moreover, the inseparable pair of little blacks play with pleasure, and Blaze’s blindness does not interfere with this at all. Moreover, Satin will always meow to a friend if he goes too far.
Interestingly, there are other cats in the family. But it was Satine who took Blaise’s care, who, according to Robin, is far from the most affectionate of them. But it doesn’t matter, because such sincere care and friendship is perhaps the most beautiful, touching and real thing that exists in our world.
