Jersey cow: its milk is considered the most delicious in the world (6 photos)
Did you know that different breeds of cows produce different milk? Of course, you won’t be able to get enough of strawberry or chocolate from any cow, but you can choose based on fat content and amount of protein. Jerseys are the record holders in this regard. Due to the high content of nutrients, the milk of these cows is considered one of the most delicious in the whole world!
Just say you're jealous.
At first glance, the Jersey breed of cows seems a little toy-like. Even adult bulls look very cute and gentle, let alone cows and calves - they generally look more like a tremulous doe than cattle. Graceful body structure, thin, slightly childish facial features and soft wheaten color. A toy, not a cow!

The weight of the animals varies from 350 to 700 kilograms, and the maximum height at the withers is only 120 centimeters. For such highly productive animals, these are very modest indicators! Judge for yourself: on average, these cute little cows produce about 6,500 kilograms of milk during one lactation period (a little less than a year). Well, the breed record holders can produce 14,000 kilograms of product! Yes, milk should be counted in kilos, and not in liters: milk has a different density and composition than water, so dairy farms measure raw materials this way.
I wonder what bra size they would need?
In addition to quantity, Jerseys also lead in milk quality. Depending on the breeding line, the fat content of cow cows can be from 4.8 to 8%, and the amount of protein is approximately 3-4%. For comparison: the most popular Holstein-Friesian dairy breed has a maximum milk fat content of only 3.8%, and protein content of up to 3.2%.

What do these indicators tell us? And the fact that from the milk of Jersey cows you can make much more cool cheese, cream, butter, sour cream, kefir, cottage cheese and fermented baked milk! The more nutrients in the raw materials, the better the finished product will be. That is why today the pretty animals occupy an honorable second place in number among all breeds of cattle.
Veal tenderness.
This unique breed of cows appeared thanks to breeders from the British island of Jersey. In the 1700s, local livestock began to be raised in isolation, without the admixture of blood from other breeds from the mainland. Many years of targeted selection, a little inbreeding, a bit of local climate influence and a dash of island dwarfism have made Jersey cows what we know and love today.

Unlike other factory-bred cows, Jerseys are not prone to developing hereditary diseases. This is a completely healthy and happy breed. In addition, they reproduce easily and without human intervention, because calves are also born small!
