The tractor from the movie Fast and the Furious is up for sale (41 photos)

Just recently there was a post about the sale of a Nissan Skyline GT-R from Fast and Furious 4, and now at the Bring a Trailer auction there is bidding for a Peterbilt tractor that starred in the Fast and the Furious spin-off called Hobbs and Shaw. The truck is famous, for example, for the final scene in which it is used for a tug-of-war with a helicopter.





The tow truck was built from scratch and is only indirectly related to the Peterbilt brand. However, the car can be registered and driven on public roads.

The tow truck with an A-frame crane and a two-seater cab is built on the basis of a 1983 Chevrolet Suburban. The chassis is complemented by a multi-link suspension on King coilovers, disc brakes and 20-inch wheels with 40-inch off-road tires.

The truck is powered by a conventional 6.2-liter V8 from Chevrolet producing 525 hp. s., connected to a 3-speed automatic transmission and a Currie Enterprises rear axle with a locking differential. The deliberately exposed casings of the huge turbochargers are fake, as are the vertical exhaust pipes.

Only the cabin was borrowed from Peterbilt for the custom. The interior, like the chassis, was built from scratch. It features custom Beard bucket seats and aluminum-dash AutoMeter analog gauges.

After Hobbs & Shaw was released, the car was used for several promotions, and in 2019 it went to a private owner. Since the completion of construction, the custom has traveled a little over 3 thousand kilometers, but the total mileage of the base chassis is unknown.

The seller claims that the construction of the tow truck cost 285 thousand dollars. However, despite the unique status of the car, they are now offering only 27 thousand for it. There are about a day left until the end of the auction.
