In early November, customs officers, examining a passenger car through an X-ray machine in the city of Shenzhen (Guangdong Province, China), bordering Hong Kong, discovered a secret compartment.
Customs in southern China intercepted a car at a border checkpoint containing 72 kilograms of gold bars worth more than 40 million yuan.
Customs officers discovered a secret compartment skillfully designed inside the rear axle of the car.
The case was promptly transferred to the competent authorities of the customs department for further consideration.
