A traveler travels around Europe in search of creepy locations (22 photos)
Justyna, a resident of Prague, Czech Republic, explores unusual and abandoned places. After searching for an interesting location on the Internet, the girl studies the map, boards the train and goes on a journey. To date, she has visited hundreds of such places in Europe. What attracts her most is their authenticity and dark beauty.
1. Demon statue at an abandoned mausoleum in Poland
Justine was most frightened by an abandoned house on the outskirts of a German town.
"I didn't have high hopes for this place. I heard that the house had lost its former grandeur, and its condition was unlikely to improve in the future. Without hesitation, I decided to visit it and look at the once eccentric exterior of the small house. What I saw there , exceeded my expectations,” says the traveler.
“I met the owner, who allowed me to go into the yard. I believed that this would be the main event of the day. But I still did not know what awaited me ahead. An elderly man opened the doors of the house, inviting me to enter, but I was not sure. Should I move on or run away? What I saw literally took my breath away."
2. Abandoned Church of St. George in the village of Lukova, Czech Republic
The church was built in the 16th century. In 1968, when the roof collapsed during a memorial service, local residents decided that the place was cursed. So the church remained empty until local sculptor Jakub Hadrava created an eerie collection of “ghosts”. They now occupy the benches, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world.
3. Art installation in Königsmuhl, Czech Republic
"There were skeletons, creepy dolls and much more inside. I regret that I took so few photos. I like strange people, but at one point I thought that all the skeletons in the house could be photographers who visited this place before, so I hurried leave. The place will remain in my memory because of its authenticity. This is not a museum with an entrance fee, but an old man living in a house with ghosts and skeletons."
4. Hill of Crosses, Lithuania
This is a place of pilgrimage, but the sight of thousands of crosses in one place is undeniably eerie.
