People are worried about an introverted sheep who lives in the mountains (6 photos)
Sheep usually live in a herd - but there are exceptions like this one. "Scotland's loneliest sheep" has been living at the foot of a cliff in the Scottish mountains for two years now. Now not only the Scots are worried about her, but also the rescuers, along with thousands of netizens.
"Scotland's loneliest sheep" has been living in the Highlands of Scotland for two years. The sheep was spotted by local resident Gillian Turner while canoeing from the village of Balintore to Nigg County in 2021. The sheep was running on a beach in the Scottish Highlands all alone, which is not entirely typical for these animals. At first the woman did not suspect anything, but recently, having gone rafting along the same route again, she again saw the same sheep - and reported it to the rescuers.
According to the woman, the sheep "begged for help" when it saw the group in the canoe. She desperately tried to attract attention both the first time Gillian saw her and the second time, two years later:
"When the sheep saw our group, it started calling to us and started running over the rocks. The poor sheep had lived there alone for at least two years - for a herd animal that must be torture. She desperately tried to get our attention both times we passed by her. It's just terrible. The first time we were sure that she would somehow get out of there," said Gillian.
Gillian said there was a major storm in the area last weekend - so she's doubly concerned about the sheep's welfare. The woman turned to all sorts of authorities that could help with her rescue. One service sent drones to the site to track the condition of the animal - but at the moment there is no information. Live, sheep!
