A rare 1929 Ford Model A was sold at auction for a ridiculous price (26 photos + 3 videos)
A very old 1929 Ford Model A sedan was sold at the American Bring a Trailer auction. The car, which is almost a century old, is capable of moving on its own, but the most surprising thing is how much it was eventually sold for.
The seller does not provide a history of the Ford Model A. The car's body was said to have been repainted dark green in the 1980s. The interior is trimmed with green velor to match the body.
The sedan features chrome trim and multi-spoke wheels, which are equipped with replica Garfield tires with white sidewalls. In addition, the Ford Model A has a rear luggage rack with a wooden storage chest.
The car is equipped with a 3.3-liter in-line engine, which once developed 50 hp. and 174 Nm. The engine is supplied with a three-speed manual transmission.
The seller claims that he purchased the car this year, and before that, the Ford Model A stood idle for about 15 years. After purchasing the rarity, all technical fluids and some engine parts were replaced. However, the sedan needs additional care: for example, its instruments and windshield wiper drive do not work.
As a result, the final price of the lot was only $13,750.
Relatively low prices may be due to the mass popularity of this model: Ford assembled almost 5 million Model A copies in different body types.
