New Mercedes-Benz models will receive optics with a three-pointed star (3 photos)
This month, Mercedes-Benz presented the concept to the public a compact electric car that will soon become a production model CLA. The car turned out to be very unusual, largely thanks to lighting technology in the style of the brand's signature three-pointed star. As it turned out, new optics is not at all a design whim for a show car, but one of key elements of future electric Mercedes.
In a conversation with journalists from the British publication Autocar Mercedes-Benz chief designer Gorden Wagener said that the Concept series The CLA will go with minimal changes and the unusual optics will definitely remain on the spot. According to him, in modern realities, many electric vehicles barely distinguishable from each other, and he himself wants to create something memorable and the design of headlights with lanterns will help him with this.
Wagener also noted that lighting technology has become a kind of exhaust for electric vehicles. That is, if in the case of cars, equipped with internal combustion engines, designers were sophisticated with the placement and type of exhaust pipes, then in electric cars a similar role is destined for optics.
