Convicted murderer climbs a wall to escape prison
The video shows Danelo Cavalcantes escaping from the Chester County Jail by climbing onto the roof from one of the exercise yards.
Nearly a week after the escape, surveillance footage was released showing Cavalcante walking toward a doorway and looking over his shoulder, apparently to make sure he wasn't being watched. The prisoner then braces himself between two walls, with his hand on one side and his feet on the opposite side, and then crawls towards the roof and disappears from view.
Chester County Jail officials said a guard who was in the observation tower at the time of the escape around 8:50 a.m. did not notice the inmate. He is also reportedly under investigation.
Danelo Cavalcante, sentenced on August 16 to life in prison for the brutal murder of his girlfriend Deborah Brandao. , escaped from a Pennsylvania prison on Thursday, August 31st.
Cavalcante, sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, was also wanted for a murder committed in Brazil in 2017.
