She predicted the murder: the story of the "clairvoyant" Tilly (7 photos)
If hands grow from the wrong place, a person cannot become artist or musician. But if you really want to succeed, then some do not shy away from the dirtiest and cruelest ways on the way achieving your goal.
“Good morning, dear neighbors! Great weather, right? A Do you know that you won't live to see the evening?" About the same plan conversations were built with the neighbors of Ottilie Klimek. The woman was reputed a soothsayer, and those around her were afraid of her revelations like fire. such Cassandra of the Polish spill (the girl came to the States as a baby along with parents - Polish immigrants).
Tilly Klimek
Tilly was not particularly beautiful. Yes, and education too - until the end of her life she wrote and spoke English with wild mistakes. But was not outright ugly. And, as they say, do not drink water from your face. AND at the age of 19, Ottilie Gburek married her compatriot Joseph Mitkevich. The couple lived quietly and peacefully for almost 20 years, until in 1914 the man died of an illness. And on the eve of death a woman shared with her friend the details of a dream in which “dear Jozef” left from life.
Diseased heart. Well, it happens. But for Tilly life continued. She was still relatively young, did not even notice 40th anniversary. And soon the widow again became a husband's wife. The choice fell on the worker Joseph Ruskowski. However, a woman does not enjoy family life I managed - I was widowed in a couple of months. And again shortly before leaving the world another perfectly healthy man saw a prophetic dream.
Why the next chosen one Frank Kupchik was not alert - unknown. But the third husband predictably passed away six months after weddings. And again on the eve of the newly made widow with sadness in her voice told the environment that her husband did not have long.
Witch?
Shortly before Frank's death, Tilly got hold of a nice little hat. for mourning attire (later the lady will appear in her at the trial). And for She begged the landlady to put a coffin in the room to add to the entourage. It is difficult to imagine the condition of poor Frank in such an interior. However, no one asked the opinion of a bedridden patient. And after his death everyone has already believed in the gift of the soothsayer. And just in case bypassed it side.
Nelly and Tilly
All except Joseph Klimek, the fourth choice of the black widows. Everything went well at first. But after a few months the man became to wither and strongly passed. Klimek's relatives were alarmed and turned to the police. During the investigation, curious details emerged. Sinister predictions affected not only unlucky spouses, but also other people. So Tilly predicted the deaths of three neighborhood kids, cousins and cousins, relatives of deceased husbands.
Mourning suits her
Analysis of the remains after the exhumation showed the beyond arsenic content. The false soothsayer simply poisoned everyone, who she didn't like for some reason. In total, during her career as a prophetess-poisoner Tilly made 20 attempts. How at least 14 were successful.
Why did she do it? For the death of her husbands, the widow received solid insurance. She quarreled with the parents of the dead children. Husband sisters frankly annoyed. Even those who always bark fell under the distribution dogs. The woman was supplied with poison by her cousin Nelly Kulik, who was also taken under guards, but found not guilty and released a year later.
At the trial, the "psychic" appeared in that very charming hat, which has become the calling card of the lady. And though Tilly confessed only in an attempt to poison the third husband, and the remaining episodes cannot be proved succeeded, it was enough for a verdict - life.
In 1936, the notorious Tilly died in prison at the age of 60. years. And her case remained in history as a demonstrative sad an example of what blind trust can turn into. And what's for the dishes Polish cuisine should be treated with suspicion. Just in case. Especially if they are prepared and served by a cheerful widow.
