Envaitenet from which there is no return (7 photos)
The islands are interesting already because they are separated from the mainland. But after exploring or relaxing in such areas of land, I want to return home to familiar surroundings. But not all islands let their guests.
Enwaitenet Island is located in the northern part of Kenya, on the lake Rudolf. It was discovered back in the 17th century, but up to the present day it almost unexplored. Because of its strange and dangerous features.
The first settlers were representatives of local tribes, who arrived on Envaitenet and tried to make this piece of land fit for life. The settlers built huts and began to raise cattle. But, despite the lush vegetation, the animals died. However, wild animals and birds on the island, despite the excellent living conditions, also there was practically none.
Following the animals, problems began with people. Islanders began to get sick, fell into a coma or some strange stupor without visible reasons. Accidents from scratch have become more frequent, women gave birth to premature, unviable children. The inhabitants of the island at one moment simply stopped visiting the mainland. And when several people from coastal village, who had relatives on the island, decided everything check, they did not find any signs of life in the settlement.
The huts were empty, the fires were extinguished. Weapons and household items in place. There were no signs of attack or insanity. Even the remains of spoiled fish prepared for processing were present. But neither people nor bodies were found.
Irrevocable Island
From that moment on, those wishing to settle on such a frightening and the inhospitable island was no more. Until 1935, when explorers Martin Sheflis and Bill Dyson arrived on the island. Their interested in stories about the disappearance of people and other strangeness of this piece of land - a strange roar, ghostly luminous figures and fire escaping from the ground.
The men agreed with the leader of the expedition that they would every evening to signal from the shore with torches. Some evenings it was, but then the scientists did not go to the communication session.
The rest of the group arrived on the island and found no sign the presence of Martin and Beal. They hired locals from a coastal village. Those they combed the island up and down, but the scientists were never found.
What are you, dangerous Envaitenet?
A similar fate befell the members of two more expeditions. last century. Private groups of Dutch and Germans also disappeared without trace. The last attempt to colonize an inhospitable land was undertaken in the middle of the last century.
Representatives of the Elmolo tribe of Kenya
The warlike Elmolo tribe is tired of constant clashes with neighbors. And they decided to move to Envaitenet. At first everything went fine: people fished and sold the catch to the tribes, living on the coast of the lake. But then a few dozen people just disappeared without a trace. A reminder of Elmolo were only stories about ghostly city, from whose houses a mournful mournful melody. When the vision disappeared, people began to suffer from headaches, nausea and vomiting occurred.
The goddess of fertility could well look like this
The only hypotheses put forward to explain anomalies and not related to the action of otherworldly forces, have become exposure to a strong magnetic field and spontaneous movements of underground rocks as a result of volcanic activity.
Aborigines strongly disagree with these explanations and sure that the island is the petrified body of an ancient goddess. Mortal there is no place here, so there are no more attempts to develop the land.
