In Georgia, a landslide hit the medieval monastery of Shiomgvime

Part of the rock collapsed near the medieval Shiomgvime monastery near Tbilisi.
This was reported on August 27 by eyewitnesses in social networks. The landslide covered the old buildings. The published footage shows how tourists hastily leave the area. Rescuers have already arrived at the scene, but, according to preliminary data, no one was injured as a result of the landslide.
As Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze noted in social networks, this happens every year, the rock is thinning. No one was hurt this time, he said.
Shiomgvime Monastery is a medieval monastic architectural complex in Georgia, located near the city of Mtskheta and 30 kilometers from Tbilisi.
