In the USA, a tourist found the mummies of three people in the forest. They belonged to family members who tried to survive in the forest by following instructions from Youtube.

The mummies were discovered by a hiker in the Gunnison National Forest near from Gold Creek Campground in Colorado. They were identified as Rebecca Vance, 42, her 14-year-old son, and her 41-year-old sister Christine Vance. Rebecca Trewala's half-sister Hara told reporters that she and her husband tried to dissuade her from the fatal expedition. According to her, the reason for leaving for the forest was the sister's fear of the situation in the world: a woman frightened by the COVID-19 pandemic and related political processes. Vance decided to protect the family by choosing "life in the bosom of nature."



Survivors found in a tourist tent, unsuitable for low temperatures. Nearby stood an unfinished dugout shelter, which the sisters, apparently, could not finish before the onset of cold weather.

Kristin Vance initially did not want to go into the woods with Rebecca, but joined her, believing that together they would have more chances to survive. The sisters had no special training before expedition, they only watched videos with the rules of life away from civilizations found on the Internet.



It is known that the Vances did not purchase provisions in specialized tourist shops, but in a regular supermarket. At the family had no generators, no batteries, no other necessary for winter camping items. At the same time, the winter of 2023 in Colorado stood out especially cold and snowy.

The Gunnison County coroner told reporters that fatal outcome was exhaustion and the lack of a full-fledged shelter from elements.
