In 1836, 17 miniature wooden sculptures were found in Scotland. coffins, and since then this find has been one of the most curious and mysterious all over the world. She was accidentally discovered by a group of boys who hunted rabbits on a hill in Edinburgh. To this day the mysteries associated with these coffins remain unsolved. 
It was the distant year 1836. Scottish Boys Group hunted rabbits on a hill called Arthur's seat ("Throne Arthur") in Edinburgh. During the search for rabbit holes, they made amazing discovery. In a small cave they found 17 miniature wooden coffins, each containing a tiny wooden figurine person. At first, the locals assumed that the coffins were used in some rituals or magical ceremonies, but later came up with another scary theory... 
The theory is that these coffins could be related to murders committed by Burke and Hare in Edinburgh from November 1827 to 31 October 1828. Burke and Hare are a pair of Irish immigrants who committed a total of 16 murders. The murderers sold the bodies of their victims doctors to use them during lectures on anatomy. Eventually Burke and Hare were caught, tried, and sentenced to death. Many connected the find with these crimes - it was especially surprising that the number of coffins almost coincides with the number of victims. 
Although there were 17 coffins and 16 murders, experts say that the extra coffin represents the first "victim": it was the man who died his death, but Burke and Hare stole his body and sold it to doctors. Perhaps the killers themselves made the coffins, before the murder of the intended victim. This version is not confirmed, and may be a horror story - but despite this, it still excites the minds of specialists and ordinary people who are interested.
