Oceanologist Anatoly Sagalevich has long been friends with the pilot of the missing apparatus.

Ocean scientist, head of the laboratory deep-sea vehicles of the Institute of Oceanology RAS Anatoly Sagalevich told RIA Novosti that the director of the film "Titanic" James Cameron believes that the bathyscaphe that has disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean can no longer be saved. IN Cameron sent his condolences to him because he knows that the bathyscaphe was operated by Sagalevich's old friend Paul Nargeole.

Of course he sent his condolences to me, he knows about our friendship with Paul Nargeole. He says your friends are leaving alone for one. He already thinks that, in general, it's over, I think so.

Paul-Henri Nargeole once commanded a group of deep-sea ships of the French Navy.

As Sagalevich said, Cameron, apart from condolences, did not gave no comments about the bathyscaphe, because he also does not know what happened to the apparatus, and is not familiar with its design. Wherein Sagalevich rejected the version exaggerated by the media that the bathyscaphe could stumble upon a reef or get stuck in the wreckage of the Titanic. According to him, Nargeole has made about 35 dives on the Titanic, he is an experienced pilot and could not allow such stupidity.

It is believed that "something tragic" happened on the deep-sea vehicle related to its design.

According to the latest data, the US Coast Guard never found source of underwater noises that a Canadian plane recorded today with hydroacoustic station. There is almost no hope of saving the crew remains. Tomorrow, by one o'clock in the afternoon, oxygen will run out on board the apparatus and batteries run out.

On board the bathyscaphe, we recall, there are British billionaire Hamish Harding, founder of OceanGate Expeditions Stockton Rush, 73-year-old French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeole and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Davud with his son Suleiman.
