Tests of the serial hypercar Bugatti Bolide (4 photos + 1 video)
Bugatti has published a video dedicated to the track races hypercar Bolide on an abandoned airbase. Production version of the hypercar tested for acceleration.
Bugatti calculated that the Bolide pilot during an intense acceleration can experience overloads up to 1.6 G. This has been called "not unparalleled achievement." Bolide concept prototype could accelerate to 100 km/ h in 2.17 seconds.
Engineers also evaluated the work of the aerodynamic tail Bolide at high speeds, stability and endurance of it components. The loads that the hypercar was subjected to are named extreme.
Deliveries of serial Bolide should start in 2024, total only 40 of these machines will be assembled. At the same time, Bugatti has not yet unveiled the characteristics of the hypercar in the form in which it will get to customers.
Concept debuted in 2020 retains the Chiron platform and standard for the W16 company, but the motor was boosted to 1850 hp. year later they showed a closer to the serial version, in which the return engine was reduced to 1600 hp. and 1600 Nm. Bolide weighs at the same time only 1450 kilograms.
Bolide could be the last Bugatti in production 16-cylinder turbo engine. Development of a new power unit for a successor to the Chiron is already underway under Rimac, but, most likely, it will be equipped with a hybrid installation based on more compact internal combustion engine.
