If you believe the polls of media, which from time to time conduct social monitoring of different segments of the population, many prisoners, released, they say that from committing new crimes their stop not moral aspects, but the banal fear of being again behind bars.

Pay attention to the forest behind the fence. You can walk in it.

Indeed, the fear of punishment sometimes affects people more strongly than ethics and morality.

Of course, prisons seem to many of us completely terrible and cruel place. However, today we will not talk about such establishments. Today I want to tell you about the most comfortable in the world prison for people who have committed serious crimes. This place is located in Norway, and there is a lot of controversy surrounding it.

The thing is that this prison seems to many too comfortable in order to keep people there who have committed general any crime, let alone a particularly serious one. However, prison Halden has existed for more than 10 years, proving to the whole world that humanity is important, even for delinquent citizens.

Its concept is maximum comfort for all prisoners, consideration of their civil rights and respect for the individual. That's why despite the fact that the institution is a correctional institution, prisoners here live in individual cells-rooms, each of which is equipped refrigerator, TV and desk.

The prisoners themselves are also not in any way constrained in their movements. They can freely walk around the prison, going into all the spaces available to them. Moreover, they can also walk through the prison forest, even without security escort. They can give time for sports: the prison has a large gym and a climbing wall.

Completely free of charge, prisoners can learn a new specialty, learn to play musical instruments or even record your song. The prison has all the necessary equipment, so You can do almost anything if you want.

It is mandatory for prisoners to attend a social teacher-psychologist, who in this place takes on the role rather mentor than supervisor. He sorts out the problems of prisoners and gives adviсe. In some cases, these may be suppression exercises. aggression, in some cases - art therapy, and sometimes the development of a new specialties.

At the same time, the qualifications of all specialists and even security guards the prison is very high. before starting work with prisoners, they are required to attend a course of lectures on jurisprudence, human rights and their specializations. Therefore, all communication takes place in the most correct way. form. Moreover, there are attempts between prison workers and prisoners build friendly relationships.

According to experts, in this case, prisoners are better socialized to normal life. Moreover, it reduces the likelihood rebellion to almost zero: due to the emotional connection with the guards, to use against the bottom weapons and brute force should be more difficult.

Paradoxically, it works. The prisoners have relative freedom of the will, and knives are not prohibited in prison. On the general a kitchen where prisoners can make themselves something for a quick snack, there are both knives and forks, but no one uses them.

And here the question may arise about the common kitchen: how so? Why do prisoners cook for themselves? Shouldn't they be fed? And them fed. It’s just that in addition to state grubs, prisoners have the opportunity cook food from store products. The store is located right on territory of the prison, and its assortment is no different from the usual supermarket.

And here another question may arise: where does the money come from? Answer simple - work. The work of prisoners is well paid, so problems with no one is shopping. For a general understanding, the minimum wage the prisoner's fee per day cannot fall below 6 euros. For more skilled workers it comes to 15 euros. For aboutcommon understanding, it is from 600 to 1500 rubles per day! For a part time job!

As for the organization of ready meals, then in Halden practice a "custom" food system for prisoners. In practice this means that the prisoner can make his own menu, choosing for himself meals for the day from several proposed dishes.

And, yes, food here is four meals a day and for prisoners it is proposed to taste: fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, several types of meat (optional), pasta, desserts, stewed or fried vegetables. Served here and similarity of fast food like pizza, french fries or fish fingers, but emphasis It's all about proper nutrition.

This is what a meal looks like. Unfortunately, quality I didn’t find a photo of a food tray, but this is an analogue of what they describe prisoners and a photographer who visited there.

At the same time, the prisoners have a daily routine, it cannot be said that they are on their own. However, it was in the conclusion, closed in cells, they do not spend much time: the cells open at 6.30, and closes at 22.30 (on weekends - at midnight). The rest of the time Prisoners can move around the prison freely, for except for their working hours and lunch time.

At the same time, even after 22.30, the prisoner can sit in his camera and watch TV - no one will force him to sleep. The main condition is to observe the regime of silence and respect the sleep of others.

And here the question may arise: what kind of punishment then, if prisoners record songs, eat goodies and walk in the woods? AND The answer may surprise you, but it's not a punishment at all. Norwegian prisons are aimed at punishing people, their goal is to re-educate and correction, because prison is a correctional institution.

The task of the Halden staff is quite simple: they need to be shown a prisoner that you live right and obey the law, you can become respected member of society, to find a place in this world for delinquent people and socialize them. And this task turned out to be feasible!

Only 20 percent of criminals return to crime. And the figure seems big - it's one in five. However, in others countries in Europe and the US, this number fluctuates around 60%. human attitude reduced the recurrence by as much as three times!

And, of course, this is a breakthrough. It's just that many people think it's a breakthrough in the budget of Norway, because the maintenance of one prisoner costs country of 150 thousand euros per year! That's the price of free fitness art therapy and four meals a day. And there is an opinion that too much it's fat for the prisoners - they don't deserve it.

What do you think of this situation? Do you think such a system correct and working, or overly loyal and indulgent crime? Share your opinion in the comments!
