In the Blagoveshchensk district of the Amur region burned out the valley Alim River, where the nesting place of storks and cranes is located. People they still set fire to the stubble in the spring - the dry remains of the stems.
He showed the consequences of the fires in his telegram channel ornithologist, associate professor of the Department of Biology and Game Science of the DalGAU Anton Sasin. He published footage taken in the burnt fields.
“The rest of the Alim river valley burned down. Practically every spring they seek to burn it to the ground. In the meantime, this is the closest Blagoveshchensk nesting place for 10-12 pairs of White-naped Cranes, 1-2 pairs Japanese cranes and several pairs of Far Eastern storks. And every in the spring they face such a test, ”the scientist wrote.
The flame destroyed several nests of rare birds, including the pair of cranes Snezhinka and Snowdrop known to Amur people. Ecologist found homeless birds - they wandered through the ashes not far from their former nest, from which the fire did not leave a trace.
The ornithologist also showed miraculously surviving masonry.
“Some storks and cranes are lucky. The fire passed a few meters from their nests,” wrote Anton Sasin.
