Agatha Christie became famous as an author of detective stories and quite deservedly called their queen. But at some point in life she was in a deep depression. And it seemed to her that there was no longer any future, no prospects, no happiness.

But one trip changed everything.

Agatha in her youth

The problems began with the fact that Agatha's mother passed away, with to whom she was very close. Less than a year later, her husband Archibald declared that he had a young mistress. And asked for a divorce. Agatha was a woman of strict upbringing, highly moral and believed that marriage - it's forever. One man whom she surrounded with love and care and to whom she gave birth to a child. But Archie had his own opinion on this matter.

The writer experienced life's troubles very hard. AND once even disappeared for 11 days. But as a result, life went on and after divorce. Friends invited the woman to take part in a trip to East to unwind.

Max in his youth

In Iraq, she met the famous archaeologist Leonard Woolley. Woolley and his wife called a woman on an archaeological expedition - on the excavations of the Sumerian city of Ur.

Introductory tour for new arrivals young specialist Max Mullovan. And in the fall of 1930, he and Agatha got married. And, no matter how pathetic it may sound, they lived happily ever after until until the writer's death.

Agatha's entourage was perplexed, because Max was 13 years younger. And she is a grown woman, divorced and with a child. At the same time, the famous an accomplished writer, and the chosen one is an unknown beginner archaeologist. It will be hard. Very hard…

Beginning in 1933, Mullovan had already become an independent carry out excavations, and not work under the supervision of others. With him Agata also worked - she was engaged in documentation, took photos, formed catalog, cleaned the finds.

When the war began, Max went to serve in the Royal Air Force. And after demobilization, he and Agatha returned to archeology. And the next spent a decade in Nimrud, an ancient Mesopotamian city, located in present-day Iraq.

The sensational discovery of that period was the discovery Nimrud Mona Lisa - figurines in the form of a female head, made of Ivory. The discovery was about 2.5 thousand years old.

In the 60s, Christie's health began to deteriorate. And from active activities she departed, but continued to travel on expeditions. Regretting only about not doing it since I was young.

However, she did not forget about literature: it was in this period, her famous Miss Marple appeared. In 1976, Christie left life at the respectable age of 85 years. Max died two years later.

The story of the writer clearly demonstrates that it is not necessary lose hope. And although speaking about their marriage, the spouses avoided the word "love", preferring the concept of "luck", what evidence of love is needed, if there are 40 years of family life and doing what you love together? And in in her autobiography, the detective queen mentioned that acquaintance, marriage with Max and his love became for her the main gift of fate.
