Pike blenny, aka Neoclinus blanchardi, aka Sarcastic fringehead. The last translation sounds especially heartfelt - sarcastic fringehead. This representative of the perch-like order is not in vain respectfully called the "colored demon." The dog leads hermit lifestyle, hiding in the crevices of underwater rocks or shells left without owners.



So - in solitude and waiting for a stupid small fish (and dogs are almost omnivorous) she spends her life. But when approaching the enemy fish instantly transforms and demonstrates its essence. And not only psychologically, but also physiologically.



If someone, out of ignorance or on purpose, swims up to the possessions pike dog, then she majestically leaves the shelter and opens majestic mouth so wide that you want to run and sparkle with your heels. Since the mouth of this creature is unique - it opens wider than the head. Due to the folds of intense color in the corners of the mouth a nondescript fish really transforms into a demon, if not into devil. Add creepiness and numerous sharp teeth, cozy growing in the pasture.



There are also fights between representatives of this species. In battle the winner is the one whose mouth is wider in the literal sense. The battle is reminiscent kisses, only deadly ones. By the way, nature did not endow females with such impressive mouth, only males.



Pike dogs live in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of up to 70 meters. Natural threats to fish have not been identified. Apparently too much aggressively, these calm-looking creatures are set in relation to anything that tries to open its mouth in their direction. Fixed even attempts to bite scuba divers. However, the fish can be understood: they swim here all sorts, and then either the house is destroyed, or the food is gone.



If the pike-dogs are not pestered, they will remain in its calmer fish incarnation, leaving the second - biting dog half of the character doze off at heart.
